Lucille
Lucille announced her presence one summer night, when she meowed loudly all night from the old maple tree in our front yard. I kept fervently hoping that her mama would return to claim her, but when the cars starting their morning travel and an owl commenced hooting from the woods, I went outside, got a ladder, and became a cat-mama, three times over. Lucille started out as a wormy little pipsqueak, but currently weighing in at over 12 lbs, she is a big bundle of love. Lucille is a sweetheart. She is the first to announce mealtimes, and plays a mean game of chase-the-laser-pointer. She is afraid of thunderstorms, occasionally takes a nip at our feet, and enjoys sloshing the water out of the water bowl in order to lick it off the floor. Lucille gets along pretty well with Amelia, who is just a few months older, but she likes to pick fights with Stella.
